Oasis500 is a leading early stage and seed investment company, the first of its kind in Jordan and the MENA region. The company began with a notion; building a new platform forentrepreneurship in the region by helping passionate ambitious entrepreneurs start their own companies.
Our program at Oasis500 includes entrepreneurship training, mentorship guidance, incubation and additional follow-up investment funds if required. We want to nurture creative ideas in Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Mobile and Digital Media, transforming them into startup companies.
The focus is mainly on entrepreneurship in Jordan and the region. Our candidates’ ideas manifest a movement that can develop a strong solid generation of Arab entrepreneurs, consequently adding to a better future for the MENA region. The most exciting thing about mentoring Oasis500 startups is the exposure it has given me to the new generation. So far I was fortunate to meet the young ones who are enthusiastic, bold, sometimes aggressive, passionate, proud and eager to listen and learn. True, they are always in a hurry to move up the ladder, make money fast and become celebrities…. but guess what….. Why not ! We live in a very fast moving world where only the ones who are slow will be left behind. But, those who are dynamic, fast and quick to embrace change are the ones who will make it. Sometimes I feel that I have been mentored by those young people and not the way around. I say so, because after every mentoring session, I leave with high energy, optimism and with urgency to move faster.
I don’t think I exaggerate when I say that Oasis500 is probably one the best things that happened in Jordan in the past decade or so. Oasis500 has changed the way the local community thinks about work. Fresh graduates and the unemployed as well parents no longer think that a job in government or in a private sector company is the only way to get employed.
